Precautions

This drug may affect liver function, so individuals who regularly drink more than three alcoholic beverages a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. One of the ingredients in this drug can rarely cause serious skin reactions, so if a rash or other allergic symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. The main ingredient, tramadol, can increase the risk of seizures if taken in doses exceeding the recommended amount. Taking it with certain antidepressants or other central nervous system drugs may further increase the risk of seizures. Use with caution in patients with severe respiratory conditions, and administer in a location equipped with cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment if necessary. Combining this drug with alcohol or benzodiazepines may result in severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, so such combinations should be avoided. Patients with head injuries or brain diseases should be cautious when using this drug, as respiratory suppression may increase intracranial pressure. This drug can cause psychological and physical dependence; therefore, long-term use requires careful monitoring for dependency and potential abuse. Patients with compromised liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication due to the risk of liver damage. Particularly, patients with genetic variations affecting the metabolism of this drug may have an increased risk of respiratory suppression, requiring caution. This drug should not be administered to children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 years old after certain surgeries, and adolescents between 12 and 18 years old should use it with caution. This drug can cause electrolyte imbalances known as hyponatremia, so elderly patients or those with risk factors should be closely monitored for symptoms. Patients with hypersensitivity to the ingredients or those on central nervous system drug detoxification, severe respiratory suppression, head injuries, or taking certain antidepressants should not take this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this drug, and breastfeeding mothers should be especially cautious as the drug may be transmitted to the baby through breast milk. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur during driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised.
