In cases of severe and respiratory infections, the dose may be increased to 500 mg/125 mg. In renal impairment, the dosage should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance. - Creatinine clearance 10-30 mL/min: administer 250-500 mg once per 12 hours
Child dose
For children under 12 years of age or weighing less than 40 kg, the dosage should be reduced accordingly.

This drug is effective in treating various bacterial infections. It is used for respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It is also effective for urinary infections such as cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, as well as sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea and pelvic inflammatory disease. It is also used to treat skin infections and infections of the bones, such as boils, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, and osteomyelitis. It is applicable for dental infections, helping in the treatment of various infections. This drug demonstrates broad effectiveness against multiple types of bacteria, effectively improving infections.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults and children aged 12 and above or weighing 40 kg and above, 250 mg/125 mg of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid potassium should be administered orally three times daily at 8-hour intervals. Precautions

This drug is a beta-lactam antibiotic and should not be used in patients allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins. Patients who have previously experienced serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis may be at risk when taking this drug. Additionally, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have a higher risk of rash when using this drug. Patients with liver history or liver dysfunction should use this drug cautiously as it may exacerbate liver health if reused. Patients with impaired liver function or moderate to severe renal impairment may have increased drug concentrations, so caution and dosage interval adjustments are necessary. Patients with allergic predisposition or symptoms like bronchial asthma, rash, urticaria, etc. should be particularly careful when using this drug. Patients exhibiting gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea should be cautious as proper absorption of the drug may be compromised. This drug may cause gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and in severe cases, may progress to serious colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis. Liver enzyme elevation, hepatitis, jaundice, and other liver abnormalities may occur with prolonged use, thus requiring regular liver function tests. Skin rash, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may rarely occur, and usage should be discontinued immediately if symptoms present. Abnormal blood tests such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia have been reported, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, consultation with medical personnel is advised. Central nervous system symptoms such as anxiety, dizziness, and rarely seizures may occur, requiring caution. There is also a risk of rapid deterioration of kidney function, necessitating regular kidney function tests. This drug can affect intestinal flora, potentially influencing the efficacy of other medications or causing fungal infections. There is a bleeding risk associated with vitamin K deficiency, so older adults or those on prolonged treatment should be monitored for signs of bleeding. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should particularly avoid use in the first three months of pregnancy, and breastfeeding mothers should also be cautious as side effects may occur in infants. Not recommended for children under 12 years of age or those weighing less than 40 kg. Elderly patients with decreased bodily functions may experience increased side effects, thus requiring careful adjustment of dosing and intervals. This drug can impact urine glucose test results, so it should be considered during testing. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal failure, seizures, or severe allergic reactions may occur, and medical personnel should be notified immediately, and blood dialysis may be required if necessary. This drug should be stored in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and unnecessary prolonged use can lead to resistance and increased risk of side effects, so it should only be taken for the minimum duration as directed by a physician.
