Improvement of nutritional status due to amino acid supply in conditions such as hypoproteinemia and malnutrition
Amino acid supply is mainly used for hypoproteinemia, malnutrition, and pre- and post-surgical conditions.
As a total amino acid, administer by slow infusion at a maximum of 1-1.5 g per kg of body weight per day. The infusion rate should ideally maintain a concentration of approximately 10 g of total amino acids over 60 minutes, with a principle of administering 30-40 drops per minute.
In children, dosage and infusion rates should be adjusted accordingly.
This medication should be used only as directed by a physician. It should not be administered to patients with hepatic coma or those at risk of hepatic coma. It should also not be used in patients with severely impaired kidney function or elevated blood nitrogen levels. It is contraindicated in patients with nitrogen metabolism disorders, wasting heart disease, pulmonary edema, and those with very low or absent urine output. If the solution contains sodium or chloride ions, it should not be used in patients with hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, or alkalosis. Administration should be avoided in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or current myocardial infarction. Caution is required in patients with severe acidosis, congestive heart failure, sodium retention leading to edema, and hyperkalemia. Patients with decreased liver or kidney function should also be monitored closely during usage. Sodium bisulfite included in this medication can cause allergic reactions, with particular caution needed for asthmatic patients due to risk of asthma attacks. Rashes and other hypersensitivity reactions may occur rarely; in such cases, administration should be discontinued immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or vomiting may occasionally occur. Cardiac-related symptoms of chest discomfort, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, and increased blood pressure may arise. Rapid or excessive administration may induce acidosis, which should be closely monitored. Severe adverse reactions such as chills, fever, headache, dyspnea, and shock may occur. Metabolic complications like metabolic acidosis, hypophosphatemia, alkalosis, and hyperglycemia may arise, requiring caution. In patients with reduced liver or kidney function, certain blood levels may rise. This medicine may cause electrolyte imbalances if administered in large amounts. When used with solutions containing electrolytes, careful monitoring of electrolyte balance is necessary. Patients with kidney disease, pulmonary disorders, or severe heart disease should be cautious to avoid excessive fluid administration. Diabetic patients should monitor their blood glucose levels frequently while using this medication. Concurrent use with certain antibiotics may reduce the protein-preserving effect of this medication. There is insufficient safety evidence for pregnant women, and it should be used only when the therapeutic benefits outweigh risks. In children, adjustments should be made to reduce concentrations and frequent measurements of blood ammonia levels should be performed due to immature liver function. Elderly patients may require slower administration rates and adjusted dosages due to declining physical function. This medication contains electrolytes, requiring careful attention to electrolyte balance during large volume administration and slow intravenous infusion. Rapid infusion may cause chills and vomiting and may result in amino acid loss through the kidneys. It is advisable to warm the solution to body temperature before use. Strict aseptic conditions must be maintained when preparing and managing the infusion, with special attention to sterilization of the syringe. Do not use if the solution is cloudy, discolored, or leaking. During storage, the package should not be opened, and if the rubber stopper is damaged, it should not be used.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container, protected from air and moisture, at room temperature, ideally maintained at a typical room temperature that is not too hot or cold.
