It is used to relieve various symptoms of a cold, including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain. This medication helps quickly alleviate unpleasant symptoms that patients experience, ensuring daily activities are not disrupted. It effectively reduces symptoms to support a comfortable recovery.

How to take

Adult dose

For individuals aged 15 and older: Take 2 capsules three times daily after meals, 30 minutes after eating.

Precautions

This medication may cause liver damage in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. Acetaminophen, included in this medication, can rarely cause serious skin reactions, hence if skin rash or hypersensitivity occurs, discontinue use immediately. The maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen should not exceed 4,000 mg, and it should not be taken in conjunction with other products containing acetaminophen. Pseudoephedrine included in this medication may cause severe skin reactions, so if fever, erythema, or small pustules appear, stop taking the medication and consult a specialist. Individuals with an allergy to this medication or those who have previously experienced asthma after taking this medication or similar ones should not use it. Infants under three months of age, patients on specific antidepressants, and individuals with severe hypertension or kidney disease should also refrain from using this medication. During use, do not take cough and phlegm suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Particularly for children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, the elderly, individuals with liver disease, and cardiovascular patients, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist before use is necessary. If any abnormal symptoms such as rashes, itching, nausea, dizziness, tremors, or insomnia occur after taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and seek consultation from a specialist. This medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosage and not used for an extended period. Alcohol consumption during treatment should be avoided, and since drowsiness may occur, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery. Store out of reach of children, keep tightly closed, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place.

Side effects and when to seek care immediately

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness → Anaphylactic shock (hypersensitivity shock)
  • Severe rashes with high fever, blistering, peeling skin, pain in oral/eye mucosa → Mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis
  • Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), fever, erythema, and multiple small pustules are some severe skin reactions.
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

Mild side effects

Rash/redness (erythema), itching, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, dryness of the mouth, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take with oral medications containing cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Do not use if taking or have discontinued MAO inhibitors within 2 weeks. Consult a doctor or pharmacist when taking diabetes medications, gout medications, arthritis drugs, anticoagulants, steroids, barbiturates, or tricyclic antidepressants.

Food interactions

Do not consume alcohol during treatment.

Storage

Store this medication in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture from entering. The storage temperature should ideally be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. This helps to prolong the medication's efficacy.
