This medication is used for respiratory-related symptoms such as cough, phlegm, and asthma.

How to take

Adult dose

Generally, adults take 2 tablets three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have had allergies or hypersensitivity to this drug or its components. Breastfeeding women should not take this medication or should discontinue breastfeeding. Individuals currently taking or who have stopped taking MAO inhibitors (such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anti-Parkinson's agents) within the last 2 weeks should not take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so it should not be taken by those with lactose intolerance, genetic lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome. While taking this medication, it is advisable not to take other cough suppressants, cold medications, antihistamines, sedatives, or medications containing diphenhydramine together. Those with a history of allergic reactions, liver, kidney, heart, thyroid diseases, diabetes, hypertension, edema, older adults, frail individuals, or those with high fever should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Pregnant women or those who might become pregnant and nursing mothers should also consult a professional before taking this medication. Those receiving treatment or with respiratory diseases such as smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or persistent or recurring cough lasting more than 1 week should also seek consultation. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, or insomnia occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, serious side effects such as aldosterone syndrome or myopathy may rarely occur, so if there are symptoms such as swelling of the face and hands, increased blood pressure, or muscle weakness and cramps, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. If symptoms do not improve after 5 to 6 doses, it is advisable to stop taking the medication and consult a professional. This medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration; it is safer for children under 7 years to take it in syrup form. It is advisable not to consume alcohol while taking this medication. Care should be taken when taking it with potassium-containing preparations or medications containing licorice, or specific diuretics as this may increase the risk of side effects. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry, and airtight place. It is also advisable not to transfer the medication to another container for quality preservation.
