This medication may rarely cause systemic tonic-clonic seizures even in patients without a history of seizures, so patients with electrolyte imbalances or those taking corresponding high-risk medications should exercise caution. It should not be administered to patients with serious gastrointestinal diseases such as bowel obstruction, intestinal perforation, toxic colitis, etc., and should be used cautiously in patients with severe ulcerative colitis. The artificial sweetener aspartame included in this medication breaks down into phenylalanine, so it should not be taken by patients with phenylketonuria. Patients who have hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, have gastrointestinal obstruction, perforation, dehydration, severe heart failure, active cancer, severe mucosal injury diseases, etc., should not take this medication. Elderly patients, frail patients, patients with severe constipation or bowel stenosis, and patients with significantly impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously. This medication can cause side effects such as hunger, hypokalemia, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, fatigue, and more. If unusual symptoms occur, they should contact healthcare professionals immediately. Particularly in elderly patients, serious side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, esophageal perforation, and acute pulmonary edema have been reported, so caution is required. While administering this medication, the patient's bowel movement status should be closely monitored, and if abdominal distension or pain worsens, the rate of administration should be slowed or stopped, and appropriate examination should be performed. If symptoms of fluid or electrolyte imbalance occur, blood tests should be conducted to confirm the condition and appropriate treatment should be given. Patients with heart disease or a high risk of electrolyte abnormalities should undergo ECG and kidney function tests, and assessments are recommended before and after a colonoscopy. This medication may induce diarrhea, so adequate hydration is essential. The risk of bowel mucosal damage increases when used with irritant laxatives, so co-administration is not recommended. It is desirable to fast for at least 1 hour before administration and not to consume solid food during administration. The effects of this medication on driving or machine operation are not known, but caution is advised if unusual symptoms occur. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should only use this medication if diagnostic benefits outweigh the risks, as safety has not been established. Children should not be administered this medication, as its safety and effectiveness have not been established, and elderly patients may be more sensitive to the drug, so caution is needed. In the case of overdose, dehydration and severe electrolyte abnormalities may occur, so immediate medical attention is necessary for appropriate treatment.
