It should not be administered to patients with serious gastrointestinal diseases such as bowel obstruction, intestinal perforation, toxic colitis, etc., and should be used cautiously in patients with severe ulcerative colitis. The artificial sweetener aspartame included in this medication breaks down into phenylalanine, so it should not be taken by patients with phenylketonuria. While administering this medication, the patient's bowel movement status should be closely monitored, and if abdominal distension or pain worsens, the rate of administration should be slowed or stopped, and appropriate examination should be performed. If symptoms of fluid or electrolyte imbalance occur, blood tests should be conducted to confirm the condition and appropriate treatment should be given. Patients with heart disease or a high risk of electrolyte abnormalities should undergo ECG and kidney function tests, and assessments are recommended before and after a colonoscopy. This medication may induce diarrhea, so adequate hydration is essential. The risk of bowel mucosal damage increases when used with irritant laxatives, so co-administration is not recommended.
