How to take

Adult dose

1 tablet (70 mg/2800 IU or 70 mg/5600 IU) once a week in the morning with sufficient water (170-230 mL), at least 30 minutes before food, beverages, or other medications. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking and do not take before bedtime or upon waking. The appropriate dose for most osteoporosis patients is once a week 70 mg/5600 IU.

Child dose

Pediatric and adolescent (under 18 years): Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause irritation to the upper gastrointestinal tract mucosa, potentially leading to esophagitis, esophageal ulcers, or esophageal erosions. If symptoms such as esophageal problems, difficulty swallowing, pain behind the sternum, or heartburn develop, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Take this medication with a sufficient amount of water and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking. Patients with esophageal diseases, those unable to sit upright or stand, and those with hypocalcemia should not take this medication. Caution is required for patients with upper gastrointestinal tract diseases such as gastritis, duodenitis, or ulcers. Gastrointestinal side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux may occur, and consult a physician in case of symptoms. Nervous system symptoms such as muscle, bone, joint pain, headache, dizziness, and taste disturbances have also been reported. This medication may interfere with the absorption of calcium supplements or antacids, so a gap of at least 30 minutes should be maintained between doses. Use during pregnancy should be considered carefully due to risks to both the fetus and the mother, and caution is advised during breastfeeding. Not for use in children, and elderly patients or those with severely impaired kidney function should consult a physician before taking. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypocalcemia and gastrointestinal irritation may occur, and immediate contact with a healthcare institution is necessary for appropriate measures. Take this medication in the morning on an empty stomach with sufficient water and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking. This medication should not be chewed or sucked in the mouth, and caution should be taken to avoid lying down immediately after taking due to the risk of esophageal irritation. When dental treatment is necessary, it is important to consult healthcare professionals before and after treatment due to the risk of jaw osteonecrosis. During the course of this medication, ensure sufficient intake of calcium and vitamin D to maintain bone health. If any adverse symptoms occur during treatment, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary, and dose adjustments should be made as directed.
