This medication is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also used as an adjunctive therapy for patients with epilepsy who experience partial seizures, helping to relieve symptoms. Additionally, it is effective in alleviating pain caused by fibromyalgia. It is used to improve symptoms of major neurological pain and seizures.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication should be taken orally, divided into two doses per day regardless of food. For neuropathic pain (peripheral and central): Start with a dosage of 150 mg per day; it may be increased to 300 mg per day after 3 days to 1 week, depending on response and tolerance, with a maximum possible increase to 600 mg per day. For epilepsy: Start with a dosage of 150 mg after one week, it can be increased to 300 mg per day.

Child dose

Use in children under 12 years and adolescents aged 12-17 is not recommended due to insufficient safety and efficacy data.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so notify healthcare providers immediately if there are changes in mood or behavior during treatment. Those with allergies to the ingredients of this medication should avoid using it. Patients with respiratory or neurological disorders, kidney impairment, or the elderly may experience severe respiratory depression, requiring dosage adjustments.
