This medication is used to relieve various symptoms caused by colds such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults (15 years and older): Take 2 capsules three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Child dose

Ages 8 to less than 15 years: Take 1 capsule three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medicine should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before use by individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks of alcohol per day. Taking it with alcohol may cause liver damage. Additionally, the acetaminophen component in this medication can occasionally cause severe skin reactions, and if any rash or abnormal symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Taking more than 4,000 mg of acetaminophen in a day may lead to liver damage, so do not take it with other acetaminophen-containing products. The pseudoephedrine component in this medication can cause severe skin abnormal reactions, so if fever, rash, or small blisters occur, stop taking the medication and consult a doctor or pharmacist. People with a history of specific allergic reactions or asthma should not take this medication, nor should infants under three months of age, individuals with certain genetic metabolic disorders, or those with severe hypertension or kidney diseases. Additionally, concurrent use with multiple medications such as cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, and antihistamines should be avoided. Children suspected of having had chickenpox or influenza, individuals with certain allergic constitution, or those with liver, kidney, heart diseases, thyroid disorders, diabetes, hypertension, or gastrointestinal diseases should consult a professional before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or insomnia occur during use, or if severe allergic reactions, respiratory difficulties, or symptoms of liver dysfunction arise, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. Generally, this medication should not be used in children under two years old, and if necessary, a doctor's examination is required. Follow the prescribed dosage and instructions strictly, avoid long-term use, and when given to children, it must be supervised by an adult. Avoid alcohol during use and be cautious as there may be risks of side effects when combined with certain medications. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. It is important to not transfer it to another container to maintain quality.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, cold sweat, paleness, etc., are symptoms of shock (anaphylaxis).
  • Severe rash, blisters, skin peeling (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis) accompanied by high fever.
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma, respiratory issues associated with cough and fever (interstitial pneumonia).
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy (liver dysfunction).
  • Sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache.

Mild side effects

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take concurrently with oral medications containing cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, and antihistamines. Do not take this medication while taking MAO inhibitors or within two weeks of discontinuing them. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist if taking barbiturates or tricyclic antidepressants.

Avoid alcohol during use.

Storage
