Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and should not be taken by patients with the hereditary condition phenylketonuria. It contains lactose; therefore, individuals with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid this medication. When used in asthma or allergic rhinitis patients, various side effects such as fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, cough, and rash may occur, so caution is necessary. Particularly, neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, hallucinations, or suicidal impulses, have been reported infrequently during use of this medication, and if such symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a physician is required. This medication is not for the treatment of acute asthma attacks; therefore, when asthma suddenly worsens, a rescue inhaler must be prepared and used. Patients with a hypersensitivity reaction to aspirin should not take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs while using this medication. Pregnant or nursing women should consult their physician before taking this medication and should only use it when necessary. Children and elderly patients should strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and duration recommended by a physician, as it may affect growth, requiring caution. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote; therefore general treatment, including removal of the drug from the gastrointestinal tract, is needed under medical supervision. This medication is sensitive to light; therefore, it should be opened immediately before use and taken right after opening, while ensuring it is kept out of reach of children. During use, if asthma symptoms worsen or unusual reactions occur, consult medical personnel immediately, and do not stop or reduce the dosage of any other asthma medication without a physician's guidance.
