Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medicine is used to relieve acute and chronic pain from moderate to severe levels.
Children and adults aged 12 years and older: The dosage is adjusted according to the severity of the patient's pain and response to treatment. A loading dose of 2 tablets is recommended, and thereafter the dosing interval should be at least 6 hours, not exceeding 8 tablets in a day. The lowest effective dose should be administered for the shortest duration possible. Prolonged use should be avoided unless necessary, and regular monitoring should be carried out if long-term use is needed.
This medication may harm the liver; therefore, individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks per day should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If any abnormal reactions occur during treatment, such as severe rash or itching, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted. Due to the risk of seizures, patients with a history of seizures or at high risk of seizures should use this medication cautiously, as the risk may increase when combined with certain antidepressants or narcotic analgesics. This medication may rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so if symptoms like trouble breathing, hives, or swelling of the face or throat occur, immediate medical attention should be sought. Patients with acute bronchial asthma may experience severe difficulty breathing while taking this medication, thus it should only be used in facilities equipped with professional medical equipment. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma; therefore, it should be avoided or used with extreme caution. Patients with head injuries or brain disorders may experience increased intracranial pressure or worsened altered consciousness; thus, caution is advised. This medication may cause psychological and physical dependence; therefore, dosages and duration should be strictly managed under a doctor's supervision for prolonged use. Patients with liver dysfunction must consult their doctor before taking this medication and must be careful not to exceed the prescribed daily dose to prevent liver damage. Patients with certain genotypes may metabolize this medication rapidly, increasing the risk of serious side effects such as respiratory depression; thus, special observation by a physician is necessary. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old or in adolescents under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Patients with sleep apnea or at risk of hypoxia should continuously monitor for any worsening of symptoms after taking this medication and should reduce or discontinue use if necessary. Hyponatremia may occur while using this medication, so patients, especially the elderly or those at risk of hyponatremia, should be monitored for symptoms. Patients allergic to any ingredients of this medication or those experiencing severe respiratory depression, head injuries, or taking certain medications should not take this medication. Pregnant or nursing women should consult their doctor before taking this medication, as it may pose risks to the fetus or newborn; it is advisable to avoid taking this medication while breastfeeding. This medication may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so patients should refrain from driving or operating machinery after use. In case of overdose, there is a risk of severe respiratory depression, seizures, and liver damage; thus, the dosage should be strictly followed, and if overdose is suspected, medical attention should be sought immediately. Interactions with other medications may occur while taking this medication, so patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist of any other medications they are taking.
