Dosage adjustment for patients with renal impairment: Creatinine clearance > 30 ml/min: standard dosage 15-30 ml/min: 1/2 dosage < 15 ml/min: not to be administered The maximum dosage in the above should not be given continuously for more than 3 days. This medication is effective against various bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Staphylococcus aureus. It is mainly used for respiratory diseases like acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, and pneumonia, and is also effective for urinary tract infections such as sinusitis, cystitis, and pyelonephritis. Furthermore, it has therapeutic effects for infectious diseases such as gonorrhea, gastroenteritis, typhoid fever, as well as serious infections like sepsis, wound infections, and pyoderma. This medication actively improves symptoms and aids recovery in response to various bacterial infections.

Dosage and Administration

This medication may cause serious side effects such as severe skin reactions, so if initial symptoms like a rash, sore throat, or fever occur, use should be discontinued immediately. It is advisable not to use this medication for treating pharyngitis caused by Streptococcus. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals and exercise caution. It is safest for pregnant or nursing women to avoid this medication, especially in newborns or premature infants. When administering to the elderly, dosage should be adjusted considering kidney and liver function, and side effects should be closely monitored. Regular blood tests along with liver and kidney function assessments should be performed before and during administration to detect side effects early and respond accordingly.
