Precautions

This medication may cause liver damage in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages per day, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. If any skin rash or allergic reaction occurs while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and medical assistance should be sought. Care should be taken not to exceed the recommended dosage, and individuals with a history of seizures should be cautious as the risk of seizures may increase. Severe respiratory depression or asthma symptoms may occur during medication use, so individuals with respiratory conditions should take this drug under medical supervision. Concurrent use with alcohol or central nervous system depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines) may result in severe sedation or respiratory depression, so avoiding such combinations is advised. In cases of head injury or brain disease, increased intracranial pressure may occur while taking this medication, so caution is necessary. This medication can cause psychological and physical dependence, so monitoring for dependence is needed during prolonged use. Patients with impaired liver function should always consult a doctor before taking this medication and avoid concomitant use with other acetaminophen products to prevent liver damage. Particularly, individuals who are ultra-rapid metabolizers of CYP2D6 (certain genetic traits) may experience a rapid increase in active metabolites, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, thus consulting with healthcare professionals is necessary. This medication is not to be administered to children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 years who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Patients with sleep apnea or hypoxia symptoms should periodically monitor for symptom worsening while using this drug and may need to adjust or discontinue the dosage if necessary. Hyponatremia may occur while taking this medication; hence elderly patients or those with related risk factors require blood tests and monitoring. This medication should not be given to individuals with allergies to specific components or those experiencing central nervous system drug intoxication, severe respiratory depression, head injury, or those taking MAO inhibitors. Side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, etc., may occur, so caution is needed while driving or operating machinery. Severe respiratory depression, seizures, liver damage, etc., may occur in the case of an overdose, so it's crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage, and in case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention. This medication can interact with several drugs, so if you are taking other medications, you must inform and consult healthcare professionals. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor prior to taking this drug and are advised to avoid its use while breastfeeding for safety. Long-term use of this medication can lead to dependence, withdrawal symptoms, etc., so dosage duration and amounts should be adjusted under medical guidance. Special caution is necessary for children and elderly patients; particularly, elderly patients may be at a higher risk of side effects due to decreased liver, kidney, and heart function, thus requiring careful monitoring. This medication should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children and precautions taken to prevent misuse or accidental ingestion.
