Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve moderate to severe acute or chronic pain.
For children aged 12 and above and adults: The dosage should be adjusted based on the degree of the patient's pain and the treatment response. The initial dose is recommended to be 4 tablets, and thereafter the interval between doses should be at least 6 hours, not exceeding 16 tablets in a day. The lowest effective dose should be administered for the shortest duration possible. Avoid administering this medication for longer than necessary, and if prolonged administration is required due to the nature and severity of the disease, regular monitoring should be conducted to verify the need for continued administration of this medication. Elderly Administer the usual adult dosage. However, in elderly patients aged 75 and older, the elimination half-life of tramadol orally administered is increased by 17%, thus the interval between doses should be at least 6 hours. Renal impairment patients For patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance of 10-30 ml/min), the dosing interval should be extended to 12 hours. For severe renal impairment patients (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min), administration is not recommended. Tramadol is removed very slowly during hemodialysis and filtration, so there is no need to re-administer this medication post-dialysis to maintain analgesic effects. Liver impairment patients For patients with moderate liver impairment, it is essential to carefully consider extending the dosing interval. Do not administer this medication to patients with severe liver impairment.
This medication can put a strain on the liver, so people who consume alcohol daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. The ingredients in this medication may cause seizures, so people with a history of seizures or those at high risk of seizures should use it with caution. Patients with asthma who have difficulty breathing may face life-threatening situations when taking this medication, so it should be taken only in the presence of medical personnel. Taking this medication in conjunction with other sedatives or alcohol may increase the risk of severe drowsiness or respiratory depression; therefore, such combinations should be avoided. Patients with head injuries or brain disorders should be cautious as this medication may cause altered consciousness or severe symptoms. This medication can lead to physical and psychological dependence, so it should be taken under medical supervision for long periods. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication and be careful not to exceed the recommended dose. Children, especially those under 12 years or adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy, should not be administered this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this medication; it is safest not to take it while breastfeeding. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while taking this medication, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, and liver damage may occur; therefore, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage.
