This medication alleviates symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and tears caused by cold or allergic and vasomotor rhinitis. It also helps to temporarily relieve nasal congestion due to sinusitis. Therefore, it is used to improve symptoms of these types of rhinitis and sinusitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Children over 12 years and adults: take 1 tablet every 4 hours. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours. Follow physician's instructions.

Child dose

Children aged 6 to under 12 years: take 1/2 tablet every 4 hours. Do not exceed 3 tablets in 24 hours. Children under 6 years: follow physician's instructions.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to sympathomimetic amines and antihistamines. Individuals with certain constitutions or breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication. Patients with severe hypertension or coronary artery disease, and those taking MAO inhibitors should not use this medication. Those with glaucoma, urinary retention, peptic ulcers, asthma or chronic lung diseases, and those experiencing difficulty breathing should also avoid taking this medication. Patients taking sedatives or tranquilizers should not use this medication recklessly. This medication contains lactose; individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic disorders should not take it. Patients with chronic bronchitis causing breathing difficulties, heart disease, hypertension, thyroid issues, diabetes, glaucoma, or urinary difficulties due to prostate enlargement should not take this medication without medical advice. The artificial sweetener aspartame contained in this medication is broken down into phenylalanine in the body, thus it should not be taken by individuals with phenylketonuria. Care should be taken not to exceed the daily acceptable amount of aspartame, which should not exceed 2.4 grams per day for adults. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as fear, anxiety, tremors, weakness, pallor, difficulty breathing, heart palpitations, dizziness, and low blood pressure. Particularly, those sensitive to phenylephrine may experience rapid heart rate, headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Those with allergies to antihistamines may experience severe drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, headaches, irritability, frequent urination, chest pain, visual problems, and difficulty urinating. This medication may cause drowsiness; therefore, combining it with alcohol, sedatives, or tranquilizers can worsen drowsiness. Children may become excited after taking this medication, so caution is needed. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if there is a high fever, consult a doctor. It is advisable to avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. While on this medication, avoid activities that require concentration, such as driving or operating dangerous machinery. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage, and if overdosed, consult a physician immediately. If dizziness, insomnia, or irritability occurs after taking the medication, stop taking it and consult a doctor. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children.
