Improvement of encephalopathy symptoms due to acute and chronic liver dysfunction and amino acid supply effects
This medication helps improve symptoms of encephalopathy caused by acute and chronic liver dysfunction. It also supplements the amino acids needed for patients with liver disease, improving nutritional status and supporting overall liver function recovery. This drug alleviates symptoms associated with liver function deterioration and helps balance amino acids in the body for patient recovery. Therefore, it is used for the improvement of symptoms related to encephalopathy due to acute and chronic liver dysfunction.
Administer 500-1000 mL as a drip infusion. The infusion rate is based on 180-300 minutes per 500 mL (approximately 40-50 drops per minute). For central venous administration, mix 500-1000 mL with carbohydrate solutions and continuously infuse into the central vein for 24 hours.
This medication must be used only under the instruction of a physician. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or high nitrogen levels in the blood. Patients with amino acid metabolism issues other than liver dysfunction should also not use this drug. It should not be administered to patients with metabolic diseases that impair nitrogen utilization, severe heart failure, or pulmonary edema. Patients with very low or absent urine output, acidemia, and those with excess body fluids should also not use this medication. It should be administered cautiously to patients with congestive heart failure or severe heart failure, patients with edema due to sodium retention, and patients with impaired kidney function. This medication contains sodium bisulfite, which may cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks, so patients with asthma should be particularly cautious. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes may occur, and if such symptoms develop, administration should be stopped immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or vomiting may sometimes occur. Cardiovascular symptoms such as chest discomfort, palpitations, rapid heart rate, and increased blood pressure have also been reported. Rapid administration of large quantities may lead to acidemia, thus caution is needed. Rarely, symptoms such as chills, fever, headache, difficulty breathing, shock, bronchospasm, and urinary tract spasm may occur. Metabolic abnormalities such as acidemia, hypophosphatemia, alkalosis, hyperglycemia, diabetes, dehydration, hypoglycemia, elevated liver enzymes, vitamin imbalances, electrolyte disturbances, and pediatric hyperammonemia may occur. In patients with renal failure, blood urea nitrogen levels may rise, and serum ammonia levels may vary depending on therapeutic effects. Serious adverse reactions related to this medication include anaphylactic shock, and caution should be exercised. When administered in large amounts or used in conjunction with electrolyte-containing solutions, careful monitoring of electrolyte balance is essential. In the case of overdose, metabolic alkalosis may occur, so solutions containing acetate ions should be used cautiously. In patients with kidney disease, lung disease, or severe heart disease, careful administration is required to avoid excessive fluid supply. In diabetic patients, blood glucose levels should be monitored frequently during administration. This medication may decrease protein-sparing effects when used in conjunction with specific antibiotics, so caution is warranted. Safety in pregnant women has not been established, and it should only be used when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. In children, since liver function may be immature, administration concentrations should be kept low, and blood ammonia levels should be monitored frequently. In the elderly, due to decreased body functions, it is necessary to administer slowly and adjust the dosage as needed. This medication contains electrolytes, so caution is essential to manage electrolyte balance carefully when administered in large volumes or used with electrolyte solutions. It should be administered slowly via intravenous infusion, as rapid administration may induce chills or vomiting. Before use, the solution should be adjusted to body temperature, and compounding and administration should be performed in a sterile state to reduce the risk of infection. Before administration, ensure the solution is clear and without abnormalities, and any unused solution should be used within 24 hours. If precipitates form in the solution, they should be dissolved by heating and then cooled to body temperature for use. During storage, it should be checked for discoloration or leakage of the solution, and kept sealed in its unopened packaging. If the rubber stopper is damaged, it should not be used, and care should be taken to use it accurately based on the graduation on the container. It is advisable not to use this drug in patients with a history of myocardial infarction.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent contact with air and kept at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage under these conditions will maintain the drug's efficacy and prevent deterioration.
