If, after taking this medication, symptoms such as decreased urine output, swelling of the face or extremities, drooping eyelids, muscle stiffness in the hands, increased blood pressure, or headaches occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Prolonged use of this medication may lead to side effects such as hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, or fluid retention, so potassium levels in the blood should be routinely checked, and if abnormalities are found, the medication should be discontinued. Hypokalemia may cause symptoms such as muscle weakness, limb cramps, or paralysis, so if such symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped and an expert should be consulted. Liver problems may arise, so if symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, jaundice, nausea, vomiting, severe abdominal pain, or dark urine occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and the patient should go to the hospital. Taking this medication with drugs containing potassium or licorice, or certain diuretics may increase the risk of side effects, so if such medications are being taken, it is imperative to consult an expert. When taking the medication, it should be dissolved in warm water and only the good upper liquid should be consumed. It should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
