View approved original text

In cases like hypoproteinemia and malnutrition, amino acid supplementation is very important. Through amino acid supply in such cases, the protein balance in the body can be maintained and the nutritional status can be improved. This is particularly helpful before and after surgery as it aids tissue recovery and enhances immune function. Amino acid supplementation promotes patients' health recovery and is used to improve overall nutritional status.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Administer as a total amino acid dose of 1-1.5 g per kg of body weight per day via infusion at maximum dosage. An infusion rate of approximately 10 g of total amino acids in 60 minutes is desirable, with a principle of infusing 30-40 drops per minute.

Children's dosage

In children, the dosage and infusion rate should be adjusted.

Precautions

This medication must be used strictly according to a doctor's instructions. Patients with hepatic coma or at risk of hepatic coma should not use this medication. It is not administered to patients with severe renal impairment, high blood nitrogen levels, or impaired nitrogen metabolism. Patients with cachexia, pulmonary edema, oliguria, or anuria should also avoid using this medication. Because the components of this medication may pose problems for patients with abnormally high blood sodium and chloride levels, administration should be avoided. Careful administration is required for patients with severe acidosis, congestive heart failure, sodium or potassium imbalances, as well as patients with hepatic and renal disorders. This medication contains sodium bisulfite, which can trigger allergic reactions or asthma attacks, especially in patients with asthma or sensitivity to sulfites, thus caution is necessary. If rash or hypersensitivity reactions occur during use, administration should be stopped immediately. Side effects like nausea, vomiting, chest discomfort, palpitations, and elevated blood pressure may occur, thus caution is advised. Rapid administration of large doses can lead to metabolic acidosis, so the infusion rate should be adjusted. Serious adverse reactions such as chills, fever, headache, dyspnea, or shock may rarely occur. This medication can affect electrolyte balance, so particularly during large dose administration, electrolyte status must be closely monitored. Patients with renal, pulmonary, or cardiovascular disease should be administered with care to avoid fluid overload. Diabetic patients should periodically check their blood glucose levels while using this medication. The efficacy of the drug may be reduced if used with other specific antibiotics, so consultation with a physician is advised. Pregnant women should only use this medication when a clear necessity is established as its safety is not fully established. In children, due to immature liver function, the dosage should be decreased and blood ammonia levels should be monitored frequently. Elderly patients may have decreased physiological functions, so the infusion rate should be slowed and the dosage adjusted. Administer this medication slowly intravenously, as rapid injection can cause side effects. Before use, check that the solution is clear, and if there is discoloration or abnormalities, do not use. Compounding should be done in a sterile manner with special attention to the sterilization of injection equipment, and it should be stored appropriately without opening the package in order to maintain efficacy.
