Dosage

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to its ingredients. Patients with thyroid dysfunction, especially those with nodular goiter, lipid disease goiter, or Hashimoto's thyroiditis, should not use this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function should also avoid this medication. It should not be used on newborns or infants under 6 months of age, and patients with herpetic dermatitis should avoid it as well. It is advisable not to use this medication before or after radioactive iodine treatment. It should be used cautiously in seriously ill patients or patients with a history of thyroid disease or renal failure. This medication can rarely cause allergic reactions such as dyspnea, skin rashes, or urticaria, so usage should be immediately stopped if these symptoms occur. Pain, itching, rash, erythema, dermatitis, etc., may occur on the skin, and usage should be discontinued if severe symptoms develop. Care should be taken when using a large amount in burn treatment as it may cause electrolyte imbalance or kidney function abnormalities. Long-term use may lead to changes in thyroid hormone levels, so thyroid function should be monitored regularly. Excessive use or long-term use of this medication can lead to various side effects such as metallic taste, burning sensation in the mouth and throat, eye irritation, dyspnea, etc. Caution should be taken as iodine toxicity may appear with overdose. If used just before delivery, the newborn's eyes and skin should be thoroughly washed. When used on burn patients, adequate hydration and monitoring of kidney and metabolic status should be observed, and usage should be stopped if abnormalities arise. This medication may affect thyroid diagnostic tests, so it is recommended to have a 1-2 week interval between testing and administration. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication extensively or for a long duration. The iodine component of this medication may affect thyroid function in the fetus or newborn, so thyroid function testing in newborns is recommended. Care should be taken to prevent this medication from entering the eyes; if it does enter, it should be rinsed immediately with clean water. It should not be mixed with other medications and should be used only after cleaning the affected area thoroughly. Interactions

Do not use this medication in combination with hydrogen peroxide. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist if used together with lithium preparations, chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine compounds, alkaline substances, mercury-containing preparations, or enzymatic wound healing agents.
