Improvement of encephalopathy caused by acute and chronic liver dysfunction and amino acid supplementation effect
This medication helps improve encephalopathy caused by acute and chronic liver dysfunction. It also supplies essential amino acids to patients with impaired liver function, thereby supporting liver health. It is used to improve the overall condition of patients with liver dysfunction.
Adults: administer intravenously a maximum daily dose of 1-1.5 g per kg of body weight as total amino acids. Infusion rate: a concentration of around 10 g of total amino acids should be administered over 60 minutes, with a rate of 30-40 drops per minute as a principle.
For children, the dosage and infusion rate should be appropriately adjusted.
This medication should only be used according to the physician's instructions. It should not be administered to patients with severe kidney dysfunction or hyperuricemia, patients with amino acid metabolic disorders, or patients with issues regarding nitrogen utilization. It should also be avoided in patients with heart failure, pulmonary edema, oliguria or anuria, and patients with hypernatremia or alkalosis. In patients with atrioventricular block or myasthenia gravis, magnesium-containing formulations should not be administered, and caution is needed for patients at risk for excessive fluid supply. Care should be taken when administering to patients with severe acidosis, congestive heart failure or severe heart failure, edema due to sodium retention, hyperkalemia, and renal impairment. This medication contains sodium thiosulfate which can cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks, so patients with asthma or allergies should take extra caution. Rarely, various side effects like rash, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, and elevated blood pressure may occur, and acidosis may develop with rapid high-volume administration. Administering this medication quickly may result in chills or vomiting, so slow infusion is important. High-volume administration may lead to electrolyte imbalances, so electrolyte status should be carefully monitored. Diabetic patients should frequently check their blood sugar levels, and patients with weak liver or kidney function should pay attention to dose adjustments and fluid balance. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially when used with tetracycline, calcium salts, or vitamin B1, so careful attention is required. Its safety in pregnant women is not established, so it should only be used when the benefits outweigh the risks in treatment. In children, liver function may be immature, so a lower concentration should be used and blood ammonia levels should be frequently monitored. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, so the infusion rate should be slowed down and the dosage adjusted. This medication should be prepared and used in a sterile condition, and discolored or cloudy solutions should not be used. It should be stored unopened, and it is safe to use within 24 hours after opening.
