Precautions
Since this medication is provided in a glass ampoule, caution is needed as glass fragments may be introduced when opening the ampoule. Special care is required when administering to children or the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients who have hypersensitivity reactions or allergies to its ingredients, as well as those taking specific antiarrhythmic medications. Patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction, elderly individuals, children, and patients undergoing hemodialysis may require dosage adjustments or changes in administration intervals. Symptoms of gastric cancer may be hidden, so use should only be after confirming the malignancy status. This medication may affect the blood, liver, and kidneys, so if symptoms such as fatigue, fever, bleeding, jaundice, or abnormal kidney function occur, administration should be stopped immediately and a physician consulted. If allergic reactions or skin rashes, shock symptoms, or hormonal-related abnormal symptoms such as gynecomastia, increased milk secretion, or erectile dysfunction occur, administration should also be discontinued immediately. This medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, dizziness, mental confusion, and seizures, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, consult a physician. Additionally, irregular heartbeats or severe skin reactions have rarely been reported, so these symptoms should be monitored closely. During treatment, the disease course should be closely monitored, and blood tests or liver and kidney function tests should be conducted regularly to check for abnormalities. Particularly, elderly patients, those with chronic illnesses, and immunocompromised patients are at increased risk for infections such as pneumonia and need careful monitoring. When used with other medications, drug interactions may occur, so any medications currently being taken should be reported to healthcare professionals. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication cautiously as its safety has not been established; breastfeeding should be discontinued if necessary. In case of overdose, there is a risk of respiratory depression, so seek appropriate treatment immediately at a medical institution. During intravenous injection, rapid administration should be avoided, and it should be administered slowly to reduce the risk of side effects.
