Efficacy & effects

This drug is primarily used to treat tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal), partial seizures (focal seizures), and psychomotor seizures in patients with epilepsy. Additionally, in injectable form, it is effectively used for status epilepticus and in cases where oral administration is difficult for seizure suppression, especially when consciousness is impaired or during and after surgery. Furthermore, it helps in treating severe arrhythmias induced by digitalis when first-line treatment is ineffective. This drug is widely used for various types of epileptic seizures and certain arrhythmias.
