Adult dose

20 mL per dose, taken 3 to 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime.

Child dose

For ages 11 to under 15: 13 mL per dose, for ages 8 to under 11: 10 mL per dose, for ages 5 to under 8: 7 mL per dose, for ages 3 to under 5: 5 mL per dose, for ages 2

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to specific ingredients. Additionally, it should not be used by individuals currently taking or who have recently stopped taking MAO inhibitors such as antidepressants or antipsychotics. It is safe for infants under 3 months or children under 15 years not to take certain formulations of this medication. While taking this medication, it is recommended not to use other cold medications, sedatives, or alcohol. Avoid drinking alcohol while on this medication, and since drowsiness may occur, refrain from driving or operating machinery. Individuals with allergies, liver, kidney, or thyroid conditions, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Children under 2 years of age should only take this medication if under a doctor's care and deemed necessary. If any unusual symptoms like rash, vomiting, or dizziness occur after taking this medication or if symptoms do not improve, stop taking it immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Be sure to follow the prescribed dosage and administration rules, and when administering to children, a guardian must supervise.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anti-Parkinson's, etc.), other cough suppressants and expectorants, cold medications, antihistamines, or sedatives. Do not take this medication within 2 weeks of stopping MAO inhibitors.

Food interactions

Do not consume alcohol while taking this medication.

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature to extend the effectiveness of the medication.
