I didn't have these symptoms before, but about four or five years ago, I started experiencing intermittent pain in my finger joints. Then, last year, I noticed it was happening more frequently, so I started taking joint-healthy supplements and improving my lifestyle to prevent it. The causes of finger joint pain can be divided into degenerative arthritis caused by aging or overuse, rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease), and tendonitis caused by repetitive use. In my case, I work a lot on the computer, so I thought it was tendonitis caused by repetitive use of my finger joints. I also think degenerative arthritis caused by aging played a part.

So, I looked into supplements that would be good for my joints to prevent finger joint pain. I heard that chondroitin and glucosamine are good for joints and cartilage. Chondroitin helps support cartilage health, and many people have reported improvements in stiffness and pain in their finger joints by more than 30% after taking it, so I thought it would be effective in preventing finger joint pain.

So, to prevent finger joint pain, I bought chondroitin and glucosamine and took them every day without fail this year.

In addition to taking supplements, I've made some lifestyle changes to prevent finger joint pain. First, when working on a computer keyboard, I take a 5-10 minute break after every hour to avoid continuous strain and stress on my finger joints. I also regularly exercise my fingers whenever I remember. By taking supplements and making lifestyle changes to prevent finger joint pain, I've barely felt any pain in my finger joints this year. So I plan to continue this effort.
