This medication is used to relieve various symptoms associated with colds, including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain. It helps reduce discomfort caused by colds, allowing patients to recover quickly.
Dosage and Administration
Adult dosage
Ages 15 and older and adults: Take 2 capsules three times a day, 30 minutes after meals
Children's dosage
Ages 8 to under 15 years: Take 1 capsule three times a day, 30 minutes after meals
Precautions
This medication may affect the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three drinks per day should consult a doctor or pharmacist. It contains acetaminophen, and excessive use can lead to liver damage; therefore, caution should be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dosage. Additionally, if severe rashes, blisters, or itching symptoms appear on the skin, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Do not take this medication concurrently with other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Particularly, it should be avoided by young children, patients with severe or uncontrolled hypertension, and individuals with severe kidney disease. If unusual symptoms such as hives, rash, vomiting, dizziness, or urinary issues occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Serious side effects
- Hives, severe swelling (edema), tightness in the chest, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
- Severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes with high fever → severe skin adverse reaction
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attack, cough accompanied by fever → respiratory abnormalities
- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy → liver abnormalities (jaundice)
- Sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache
Mild side effects
Rash, redness (congestion causing redness), itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling (edema), difficulty urinating, persistent or severe thirst, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA), increased phlegm production, drowsiness
