This medication is used to relieve various symptoms of colds, including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, throat pain, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Ages 15 years and older: 2 capsules three times daily, taken 30 minutes after a meal

Child dose

Ages 8 years to under 15 years: 1 capsule three times daily, taken 30 minutes after a meal

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine and may cause severe skin reactions, such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis. If you experience fever or redness and small blisters on your skin, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor or pharmacist. People with allergies or a history of hypersensitivity to this medication or its components should not take it. Additionally, individuals who have previously experienced asthma when taking this medication, similar ingredients, other analgesics, or cold medication should refrain from use. Infants under 3 months of age, individuals currently taking or having stopped MAO inhibitors within the last 2 weeks, severe or uncontrolled hypertensive patients, and those with serious kidney disease or renal failure should avoid this medication. During the course of this medication, do not take cough suppressants, phlegm relievers, other cold medications, analgesics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Infants infected with chickenpox or influenza, children under 15 years of age, those with symptoms of ischemic colitis, or individuals with allergic conditions or a previous history of drug allergy should consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication. Persons with liver, kidney, heart, thyroid diseases, diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, or urinary retention, as well as the elderly, frail individuals, or those with high fever should also consult a physician. If gastrointestinal issues persist or recur, if there is severe dehydration due to vomiting and diarrhea, or if a woman is pregnant or breastfeeding, consultation with a healthcare professional is required before taking this medication. If rashes, itching, vomiting, dyspepsia, swelling, dizziness, insomnia, or other symptoms occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Additionally, there may be rare occurrences of anaphylactic shock, severe skin diseases, asthma attacks, severe headaches or visual disturbances, or serious cardiac symptoms; immediate treatment is necessary if these occur. Children under the age of 2 should not take this medication except in special cases, and parental supervision is advised when administered to children. Follow the prescribed dosage and administration methods during use and avoid long-term use, refrain from alcohol, and be cautious of drowsiness which may require avoiding driving or operating machinery. This medication may lead to a temporary increase in the amount of phlegm and has been reported to occasionally cause coronary syndrome, which may result in myocardial infarction due to cardiovascular allergic reactions. Finally, store this medication out of the reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and keep it in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. To maintain quality, avoid transferring it to another container.

Severe skin reactions such as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), shock (anaphylaxis): hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, mucocutaneous syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome): severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, asthma, sudden and very severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures,

Mild side effects

Rash, redness, itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, discomfort in the stomach, swelling, urinary difficulty, persistent or severe thirst, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, increased phlegm, drowsiness, coronary syndrome (heart-related symptoms)

Storage
