This medication is used to relieve various symptoms of cold such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, and others.

How to take

Adult dose

Ages 15 years and older: 2 capsules three times a day, taken 30 minutes after meals

Child dose

Ages 8 to under 15 years: 1 capsule three times a day, taken 30 minutes after meals

Precautions

This medication contains pseudoephedrine, which may cause severe skin reactions; therefore, if symptoms such as fever, rash, or small blisters appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. People who have had hypersensitivity reactions to this medication or have previously caused asthma, infants under 3 months old, those taking certain antidepressants or antipsychotic medications, and individuals with severe hypertension or kidney disease should not take this medication. It is safe not to take other cold medicines, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines while using this medication. Children infected with chickenpox or influenza, those with allergic constitutions, or conditions of the liver, kidneys, heart, thyroid, pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If symptoms such as rash, vomiting, dizziness, severe headache, or difficulty breathing occur during use, discontinue use immediately and inform medical personnel. It is generally not recommended to administer to children under 2 years of age except in special cases. Be sure to adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, avoid prolonged use, refrain from alcohol consumption during the course, and be cautious of drowsiness which may affect driving or operating machinery. This medication has been reported to cause serious cardiovascular side effects known as Churg-Strauss syndrome, so caution is needed. Store in a tightly closed container out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight, and in a cool and dry place; do not transfer to another container.

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • High fever accompanied by severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, mucous membrane pain in mouth/eyes → severe skin reaction
  • Asthma
  • Sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances → serious neurological symptoms
  • Difficulty urinating, edema → severe edema or urination abnormality
  • Churg-Strauss syndrome (coronary artery)
