This medication is used to alleviate major symptoms associated with cold, including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.
Dosage
For ages 15 years and older: take 20 mL (4 packs) once, three times a day after meals, 30 minutes after eating. If necessary, it can be taken at bedtime, with the dosing interval generally being 4 hours.
Precautions
This medication may put strain on the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. As it contains acetaminophen, there may rarely be severe skin rashes or allergic reactions, so if any skin abnormality occurs after taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately. Care should be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dose, considering the acetaminophen content in this medication, and it should not be taken with other acetaminophen-containing medications. People who have had allergic reactions to this medication or any of its components, have experienced asthma, are infants under 3 months of age, or are taking certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications should not take this medication. It is safest not to take this medication together with cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics and analgesics, sedatives, and antihistamines. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergies, those who have conditions affecting the liver, kidneys, heart or multiple diseases, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and the elderly should definitely consult a professional before use. If unusual symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, dizziness, or difficulty in breathing occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. Especially, if symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, it is essential to seek professional medical attention. It is generally unsafe to administer this medication to children under 2 years of age except in special cases. Strictly follow the prescribed dosage and administration, do not use it for a long period of time, avoid alcohol while using this medication, and be cautious as it may cause drowsiness, avoiding driving or operating machinery.
Side effects
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction. Severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes → severe skin reaction. Asthma. Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver dysfunction (jaundice). Cough accompanied by shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever → respiratory issues.
