Precautions

Care must be taken not to confuse the dosage units of milligrams and milliliters when administering this medication. Incorrect dosing can lead to severe toxicity or death. Once the patient can take medication orally, it is advisable to use an appropriate analgesic immediately. It is crucial to check whether other medications containing acetaminophen are being taken to reduce the risk of overdose. Exceeding the recommended dosage can result in severe liver damage, hence the dosage must be strictly adhered to, and symptoms of liver damage typically appear between 2 to 6 days after administration. Patients with impaired liver function or liver disease must consult a physician before taking this medication and should have regular liver function tests if taking it in high doses for an extended period. People who consume alcohol daily should consult a healthcare professional before taking this drug, as this increases the risk of liver damage. In rare cases, severe skin reactions may occur; if skin rashes or allergic symptoms develop, discontinuation of use and immediate notification to healthcare personnel is necessary. Individuals allergic to acetaminophen or this medication, patients with peptic ulcers, severe liver impairment, kidney dysfunction, or heart failure should not take this medication. Furthermore, patients with a history of aspirin-induced asthma or those taking certain medications should avoid this drug. Patients with liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, blood anomalies, bleeding tendencies, asthma, elderly individuals, children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should exercise additional caution when using this medication and consult healthcare personnel if necessary. This medication may rarely cause a decrease in blood cell count, increased liver enzymes, renal failure, or skin rashes, so if abnormal symptoms occur, immediate communication with healthcare personnel is required. It can interact with other medications; therefore, caution is necessary when taken with probenecid, salicylamide, isoniazid, anticonvulsants, and anticoagulants. It does not affect driving or machinery operation, but it should not be mixed with other medications. Children and the elderly should use the minimum effective dose and be monitored for adverse reactions. During pregnancy, the benefits and risks of using this medication should be carefully evaluated, and it can generally be used safely by nursing women. Patients with severely impaired kidney function need to extend the dosing intervals, and in cases of overdose, severe liver damage and life-threatening situations may arise, requiring immediate emergency treatment. This medication quickly reduces fever and alleviates pain. Store it in a sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. It should be kept at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the medication retains its efficacy for a longer period.
