This medication is effective for various joint disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also used to treat tendinitis, acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. Additionally, it helps with bursitis, skeletal muscle disorders, lumbago (lower back pain), post-surgical pain, migraines, and pain relief after tooth extraction. It effectively reduces patients' pain and inflammation, improving discomfort in daily life. This medication is used to effectively treat various pain and inflammatory conditions, enhancing quality of life.

How to take

Adult dose

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Administer 275 to 550 mg of Naproxen Sodium orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: Administer an initial dose of 825 mg orally, and then 275 mg every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, post-surgical pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis: Administer an initial dose of 550 mg orally.

Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before taking if the patient regularly drinks more than three drinks a day, as gastric bleeding may occur with alcohol consumption. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, so individuals with a history or risk factors for heart disease or stroke should exercise caution. During treatment, cardiovascular symptoms should be closely monitored, and if abnormalities arise, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Due to the risk of ulcers or bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, individuals with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or the elderly should use this medication with caution. Patients with peptic ulcers, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, heart failure, kidney dysfunction, hypertension, or hypersensitivity to drug components should not take this medication. Particularly, patients who have had allergic reactions to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) should avoid it. While taking this medication, various adverse reactions such as hypersensitivity, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, liver or kidney dysfunction may occur; if such symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a doctor must be consulted. Taking this medication along with other NSAIDs increases the risk of side effects, so concurrent use should be avoided. Additionally, because this medication can interact with various drugs, it is important to inform doctors of other medications being taken. During pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, it should be avoided as it may harm the fetus, and it is also advisable for nursing mothers to avoid this medication. The safety of this medication has not been established for children, particularly infants under 2 years old, so it's preferable not to administer it to them; the elderly are at a higher risk of side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding and should use the minimum dosage cautiously. Regular blood tests and liver function tests should be conducted while taking this medication, and if any abnormalities are found, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose may cause drowsiness, dyspepsia, vomiting, etc.; if such symptoms occur, it is essential to seek medical attention immediately. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and not transferred to other containers for safety.
