This medication is used to relieve various symptoms of a cold, including sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.
How to take
Adult dose
For adults (15 years and older), take 1 packet (20mL) three times a day, 30 minutes after meals. Can be taken after meals and, if necessary, before sleep, with intervals of 4 hours.
Child dose
For ages 11 years and above to under 15 years, take 2/3 packet once. For ages 7 years and above to under 11 years, take 1/2 packet once. For ages 3 years and above to under 7 years, take 1/3 packet once.
Precautions
This medication can put stress on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Additionally, the acetaminophen included in this medication can cause liver damage if overdosed, so care must be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dosage of 4,000 mg, and it should not be taken with other acetaminophen-containing products. If any unusual reactions occur, such as rash or itching, during the use of this medication, it should be stopped immediately, and medical advice should be sought. Severe skin disorders can occur, although rare. Particularly, individuals with allergies to this medication or its ingredients, those with a history of triggering asthma, infants under three months of age, and individuals taking or who have recently stopped certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications should not use this product. Care should be taken not to combine this medication with cough suppressants, other cold medicines, pain relievers, sedatives, or antihistamines during use. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergic tendencies or existing allergy symptoms, those with liver, kidney, or heart conditions, the elderly, and pregnant or nursing women should definitely consult a healthcare professional before use. If any abnormal symptoms, such as rash, vomiting, swelling, or dizziness occur after taking the medication, it should be stopped immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted, especially if severe allergic reactions, liver dysfunction, or breathing difficulties arise, which require immediate medical attention. Children under two years of age should not use this medication except in special cases, and it should be administered under parental supervision. During administration, the specified dosages and methods should be followed, and long-term use should be avoided. It is advisable to avoid alcohol. Moreover, caution should be taken when taken with certain diuretics or medications containing licorice, as hypokalemia or muscle abnormalities may occur. Serious side effects
- Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → Symptoms related to shock (anaphylaxis).
- Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes → Mucositis (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome).
- Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing with cough + fever → Interstitial pneumonia.
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), systemic.
Mild side effects
Itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, dizziness, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA), rash, erythema (redness), swelling (edema)
