Precautions

This drug should not be used in babies under 24 months old or in children suffering from chronic diarrhea. It should also not be administered to patients with bacterial diarrhea accompanied by bloody stools or fever, patients with acute ulcerative colitis, and patients with serious gastrointestinal conditions such as bowel obstruction or megacolon. If abdominal distension, constipation, or bowel obstruction symptoms occur, you should immediately stop taking this medication. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or those with specific genetic lactose intolerance should also avoid it. Patients with impaired liver function should exercise extra caution when using this medication, and their condition should be closely monitored as it may affect the central nervous system. If diarrhea symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or if it is chronic diarrhea, you should discontinue the medication and consult a doctor if symptoms do not improve within 10 days. Fluid and electrolyte loss may occur due to diarrhea, so appropriate fluid replenishment is necessary, especially for children. During the use of this medication, fatigue, dizziness, and drowsiness may appear, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. The benefits and risks of taking this medication should be carefully considered during early pregnancy, and breastfeeding women are advised against taking it. Children should take it only under the guidance of a doctor or pharmacist, and it is generally preferable to avoid administering tablets or capsules to children under 7 years old. Older adults may have diminished physical function, so dose adjustments and caution are necessary. In cases of overdose, serious symptoms such as stupor, respiratory depression, muscle rigidity, drowsiness, and urinary retention may appear, requiring immediate treatment. This medication may interact with other drugs, so be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications.
