Elderly patients, or those with heart disease or a history of heart disease, should use this medication with caution. Headaches are the most common side effect, and dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, cold-like symptoms, and back pain may occur. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may appear, including fatigue, insomnia, nervousness, sleep disturbances, nightmares, dry mouth, rash, hives, itching, angioedema, shortness of breath, etc., and if abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. In case of severe allergic reactions or shock symptoms, the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical help should be sought. If there are abnormalities in liver function, the medication should be discontinued, and a hospital visit is required if liver function tests are elevated or if jaundice occurs. There are no reports that this medication affects driving or machine operation, but sensitive individuals should check their condition before driving or undertaking hazardous tasks. While interactions with other drugs are relatively infrequent, caution is needed when taken with certain antibiotics or antacids. Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may interfere with the absorption of this drug, so a 2-hour interval should be maintained. It is recommended to take this medication with water rather than fruit juices like grapefruit, orange, or apple juice, as these may reduce the drug's effectiveness. It is preferable for nursing mothers to avoid using this drug and to consult a doctor if necessary. The safety and efficacy in children under 12 years old, newborns, and low-birth-weight infants have not been adequately confirmed, so use should be approached with caution. Elderly patients may have decreased renal function, so dosage adjustments and kidney function monitoring may be necessary. To avoid affecting allergy testing results, this medication should be discontinued 3 to 5 days prior to testing. No specific toxic symptoms have been reported in cases of overdose, but symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth may occur, thus appropriate treatment is required based on symptoms.
