Adjust dosage according to symptoms, with a minimum daily dose of 2.5 μg and a maximum daily dose of 10 μg. Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to its ingredients or who have shown hypersensitivity reactions. Patients taking other serotonin-related medications should use it with caution, and especially those taking selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors should consult a doctor. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal side effects such as constipation and hard stool may commonly occur, so if symptoms worsen, medical consultation is necessary. Rarely, serious intestinal illnesses such as ischemic colitis may occur, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain or bloody stools appear, discontinue medication and visit a hospital. In patients with irritable bowel syndrome who have constipation symptoms, it is necessary to confirm this before administering the medication, and it is important to thoroughly inquire whether symptoms are of repetitive diarrhea. Patients with a history of abdominal surgery should be cautious as complications such as bowel obstruction may occur after taking this medication. Long-term use of this medication is not recommended; after approximately 3 months of use, the continuation of treatment should be reviewed. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so when taken with other medications that affect liver metabolism, blood concentration may increase, raising the risk of side effects; thus, inform your healthcare provider of any concomitant medications. The use of this medication should be carefully decided for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and breastfeeding is recommended to be discontinued if nursing. Safety for children or infants has not been established, so use is discouraged. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, increasing the likelihood of adverse reactions, so their condition should be carefully monitored while using this medication. The packaged tablets should be taken out of the packaging for administration, and care should be taken not to chew or swallow the packaging as this could lead to serious side effects by getting stuck in the esophagus.
