View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (type IIa), as well as combined hyperlipidemia (type IIb) when not adequately controlled by diet and exercise. It assists in lowering blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases. When taken alongside a consistent diet, it is effective in improving blood lipids. Therefore, this medication plays a crucial role in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.
