This medication is used for the treatment of primary IgA nephropathy (Immunoglobulin A nephropathy) in adult patients with proteinuria of more than 1.0 g/day or a urine protein to creatinine ratio (UPCR) of more than 0.8 g/g. This condition involves excessive protein loss from the kidneys, and appropriate treatment helps prevent deterioration of kidney function and improve symptoms. Patients can benefit from consistent treatment to maintain kidney health.
