Treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, and symptom relief and maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease
This medication is effective for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and is also used for erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It helps alleviate symptoms caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease and manage the condition through long-term maintenance therapy. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of gastric-related diseases and symptom improvement.
1 tablet of 10/700 mg is taken orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 1 tablet of 20/700 mg may be taken orally once daily. Generally, for gastric ulcers, it is administered for up to 8 weeks, and for duodenal ulcers, it is administered for up to 6 weeks. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease, 10/700 mg or 20/700 mg is taken orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If treatment is ineffective after 8 weeks of PPI usage, an additional 8 weeks of treatment may be given.
This medication contains Rabeprazole Sodium and Sodium Bicarbonate, and should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients with hypersensitivity to Rabeprazole or benzimidazole derivatives or those who have experienced such reactions in the past, patients taking Atazanavir or Rilpivirine, and pregnant or nursing women should not use this medication. Patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, elderly patients, patients with severe gastrointestinal ulcers, those with poor heart or lung function, patients with electrolyte imbalances, and those who need to restrict sodium intake should use this medication with caution. In particular, due to the Sodium Bicarbonate included in this medication, monitoring is necessary for electrolyte imbalances or alkalosis. This medication can cause various adverse reactions including skin rashes or itching, blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological symptoms, respiratory issues, musculoskeletal pain, and skin and eye-related problems. If such symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a medical professional is necessary, and discontinuation of use may be required if necessary. Also, prolonged use of this medication may lead to vitamin B12 malabsorption, increased fracture risk, hypomagnesemia, and heightened risk of infection due to bacterial growth in the stomach; thus, regular check-ups are necessary during long-term use. This medication can interact with other drugs, so caution is required when taken especially with warfarin, methotrexate, Atazanavir, or Rilpivirine. Patients should inform their healthcare providers of any medications currently being taken before starting this drug and follow medical advice regarding its use. Pregnant or nursing women should not use this medication, and elderly patients might experience adverse reactions due to decreased liver function, so caution is warranted. The safety of this medication for children has not been established; therefore, it is advised not to use it. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery as drowsiness or dizziness may be experienced. In the case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment should be given based on symptoms. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and do not transfer it to another container for safety.
Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, high fever, severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory problems accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, drastically reduced urine output
