This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose due to allergic rhinitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older should take 120 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride orally once daily before meals with water. Elderly patients and patients with liver failure do not require dose adjustment. Patients with kidney failure should take 60 mg orally once daily before meals as an initial dose.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under 12 years of age.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have an allergic reaction to this medication or its components. Patients with impaired kidney function, elderly patients, and those with heart disease or a history of heart disease should exercise special caution when using this medication. Headaches are the most common side effect, and symptoms such as drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea may also occur. Rarely, symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, nervousness, sleep disorders, nightmares, or hypersensitivity reactions like rash, hives, itching, angioedema, or breathing difficulties may occur. Taking this medication with fruit juices, especially grapefruit juice, orange juice, or apple juice, may reduce its effectiveness, so it is better to take it with water.
