Nosezin 120 mg (Fexofenadine Hydrochloride)

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older should take 120 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride once daily before meals with water. Elderly patients and those with liver failure do not need dosage adjustments. Patients with renal failure should take an initial dose of 60 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride once daily before meals with water.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under the age of 12.

This medication should not be used by patients with known allergy to this drug or any of its ingredients. Patients with impaired kidney function, the elderly, or those with heart disease or a history of heart disease should use this medication with caution. While taking this medication, symptoms such as headache, drowsiness, dizziness, or nausea may occur, and rarely allergic reactions like fatigue, insomnia, itching, and rash may also occur. Severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur; if symptoms like difficulty breathing, decreased blood pressure, or chest tightness occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. It may affect liver function; if signs of liver dysfunction occur, discontinue use and undergo testing. It does not significantly affect driving or machinery operation, but those sensitive to medications should be cautious post-ingestion. When taken with certain antibiotics, blood concentration may increase, though this is not significantly related to severe side effects. Taking antacids containing aluminum or magnesium hydroxide may reduce the absorption of this medication, so it is advisable to take them with a two-hour interval. Fruit juices like grapefruit juice, orange juice, or apple juice may reduce the effectiveness of this medication; therefore, it is recommended to take it with water. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication when necessary, considering the risks to the fetus, and nursing mothers are advised to avoid it. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been sufficiently confirmed in children under 12 years old. Elderly patients may require dose adjustments and monitoring of kidney function due to potential decline in renal function. Discontinue this medication 3-5 days before an allergy test to ensure accurate testing results. There is no specific antidote for overdose; treatment should align with symptoms, and it is difficult to remove this medication through dialysis. Keep out of reach of children, and do not transfer to another container for safety.
