Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria should not take this medication. Additionally, the daily allowable intake of aspartame is limited to less than 40 mg per kg of body weight, so the minimum amount should be used. For a 60 kg adult, the maximum daily dose is 2.4 g. Infants under 3 months of age, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients, and those taking or having recently discontinued MAO inhibitors, such as certain antidepressants or antipsychotics, within the last 2 weeks should not take this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable not to combine it with other cough suppressants, cold medications, antihistamines, or sedatives. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions such as hives, dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, migraine, food allergies, as well as those with liver, kidney, heart, thyroid diseases, diabetes, hypertension, elderly individuals, women who are pregnant or nursing, and those with specific cough symptoms should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, trembling, or insomnia occur during treatment, or if symptoms do not improve after taking it 5-6 times, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. This medication should not be administered to children under 2 years of age, and if necessary, medical guidance should be sought. When taking this medication, adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and directions, especially in children, and supervise them under the guidance of a guardian while avoiding alcohol consumption. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, low-humidity place in a sealed container. It is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain product quality.
