Relief of oral inflammation (gingivitis, oral thrush, etc.) and antiseptic effect
This medication is used to relieve various oral inflammations such as those caused by prosthetics or dentures, oral thrush (fungal infection), gingivitis, pharyngitis, and aphthous stomatitis. It is also used for antiseptic purposes to prevent bacterial infections after periodontal surgery. Through this, it helps to effectively improve the patient's oral health.
Rinse with 15 mL twice a day for about 1 minute. For denture-related stomatitis, soak the denture in the medication for 15 minutes twice a day.
This medication may disrupt the balance of normal bacteria in the mouth, so it is advisable not to use it for long periods. People who have experienced allergic reactions to this medication should not use it. Those with asthma or allergic conditions or a family history of such conditions should be particularly cautious when using this medication. During use, there may be staining of teeth or the mouth, increased tartar, and changes in oral sensation. Particularly in children, the oral mucosa may peel or become slightly irritated. Although rare, severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur, so if symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, or difficulty breathing appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If rashes or hives occur, use of this medication should be stopped. In severe cases, life-threatening shock may occur. Temporary inflammation of the salivary glands may occur after using this medication. For general bacterial infections, antibiotics should be used instead of this medication, and it is typically not used for more than 10 days. Patients with both gingivitis and periodontitis should not judge the effectiveness of periodontitis treatment based solely on the condition of gingivitis after treatment with this medication. Care should be taken as there may be staining of the surfaces inside the mouth, including teeth, prosthetics, and the back of the tongue. Those wearing rough or gap-filled prosthetics may experience more staining that is difficult to remove, so caution is advised, and individuals wishing to avoid staining should refrain from use. Pregnant women should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, and nursing women should use it cautiously as it may be transmitted through breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been sufficiently established in children under 18 years of age. This medication is intended for rinsing in the mouth only and should never be swallowed. After use, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store it in a cool, dry place. Also, be careful not to store it near heat sources.
