How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered twice daily with meals. 1. If not previously treated with metformin, the initial dose is 2.5/500 mg taken twice daily, with a maximum increase up to 2.5/1000 mg twice daily. 2. Precautions

This drug helps to control blood sugar. However, it should not be used in patients with poor kidney function or liver function problems. Lactic acidosis, a serious side effect, may rarely occur, so if severe vomiting, diarrhea, or dehydration symptoms occur, take this medication immediately and consult a doctor. Due to the risk of hypoglycemia, blood sugar should be closely monitored when taking it with insulin or sulfonylurea class medications. Before surgery or radiological examinations, this medication should be temporarily discontinued and resumed only after kidney function has stabilized. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to take this medication, and women planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney function; therefore, regular kidney function tests should be performed, and dosage adjustments made if necessary. During the use of this drug, if sudden abdominal pain or persistent severe pain occurs, it may be acute pancreatitis, and you should immediately inform a doctor. Additionally, if blisters or rashes develop on the skin, it may be similar to bullous pemphigoid, in which case you should also immediately cease taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional. This drug can lower vitamin B12 levels, so regular blood tests may be necessary during long-term use. There may be interactions with other drugs, so if you are currently taking any medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Use in children or in children under 10 years is not recommended. Effects on driving or operating machinery are unknown; however, caution is needed as hypoglycemic symptoms may occur. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal disorders or lactic acidosis may occur, so you should seek treatment at a hospital immediately. When storing, keep in a place inaccessible to children and avoid moisture.
