Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have an allergic reaction to this drug or any of its components. Patients with impaired kidney function, elderly individuals, and those with cardiovascular diseases or a history of such conditions should exercise caution when using this medication. Headaches are the most common side effect of this medication, but drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea can occur rarely. Occasionally, psychiatric-related side effects such as fatigue, insomnia, irritability, sleep disturbances, and nightmares, as well as skin reactions like rashes, hives, and itching may occur. In severe cases, hypersensitivity reactions such as difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, angioedema, chest pain, and flushing of the skin may occur, and if these symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Liver function abnormalities may appear, so regular liver function tests should be conducted, and if any abnormal symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped. This medication can affect the nervous system, potentially leading to headaches or dizziness, and it can impact the digestive system, causing nausea, so it is advisable to consult healthcare professionals if symptoms are severe. Although there have been no reports of this medication affecting driving or operating machinery, it is advisable for sensitive individuals to exercise caution. This medication is not metabolized in the liver, reducing the risk of drug metabolism-related interactions, but caution should be taken as it can increase blood levels when taken with certain antibiotics or antifungal agents. When taken with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium hydroxide, the absorption of this medication may be reduced, so it is best to allow a 2-hour interval between doses. Taking this medication with fruit juices, especially grapefruit juice, orange juice, or apple juice, may reduce its effectiveness, so it is most effective when taken with water. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks to the fetus and the benefits of treatment when using this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid taking this medication while nursing. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 12 years of age or neonates have not been sufficiently established, so its use should be avoided. In the elderly, there may be an increased risk of kidney function decline, necessitating dosage adjustments and periodic monitoring of kidney function. This medication may affect specific diagnostic tests, such as allergy tests, so it should be discontinued 3 to 5 days before the tests. No serious toxic responses have been reported in cases of overdose, but symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth may occur, requiring appropriate treatment based on the symptoms. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to other containers is not advisable for quality maintenance and safety.
