Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to this medication or ergot alkaloids, patients with acute myocardial infarction or acute hemorrhage, individuals taking sympathomimetic drugs, patients with very slow heart rates, patients with unresolved intracranial hemorrhage, and those with orthostatic control disorders should avoid using this medication. Additionally, patients with slightly slow heart rates or impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may rarely occur. There may be an increase in liver enzyme levels due to liver dysfunction. Cardiovascular symptoms may include dizziness, orthostatic control disorders, hypertension or hypotension, and elevated uric acid levels. Neurological symptoms may include drowsiness, fatigue, headaches, tinnitus, lethargy, and insomnia, which may rarely occur. Moreover, hypersensitivity reactions such as rashes, urticaria, itching, flushing, and warmth may occur. Rarely, nightmares, mood changes, and dyspepsia have also been reported. When taken with antihypertensive agents, the blood pressure-lowering effect may be increased, so blood pressure should be monitored frequently. Furthermore, since it may affect uric acid metabolism, patients with a history of hyperuricemia or gout should be cautious. After taking this medication, caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery. This medication is metabolized by certain enzymes in the liver (CYP450 2D6), so interactions with other drugs that share the same metabolic pathway may occur. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should be cautious when taking this medication. Animal studies have shown potential harm to the fetus, so it should only be used during pregnancy if necessary, and breastfeeding should be avoided or stopped when taking this medication. Elderly individuals may require caution such as dose reduction due to decreased body function when using this medication. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, so blood pressure changes should be carefully monitored, and necessary measures should be taken. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored tightly in its original container to avoid misuse or deterioration of quality.
