This medication is used to effectively relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should take 120 mg of Fexofenadine Hydrochloride once daily orally with water before meals. No dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients or those with liver dysfunction. Patients with renal impairment should take 60 mg as a starting dose once daily orally with water before meals.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 12 years of age regarding this medication.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have an allergic reaction to this drug or its components. It should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function, elderly patients, and patients with heart disease or a history of heart disease. Symptoms such as headache, drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea may occur upon taking this medication, and rare allergic reactions such as fatigue, insomnia, skin rash, itching, and difficulty breathing may occur. If symptoms such as difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, swelling of the skin, or chest tightness occur, stop taking the medication immediately and seek medical attention. Liver function may be affected, so consult a doctor if there are symptoms of elevated liver enzymes, and stop taking the medication if abnormal symptoms arise. This medication may change blood concentrations when taken with certain antibiotics or antacids, so caution is advised when used in combination with other drugs, and it is recommended to take it with water rather than fruit juice as the efficacy may decrease. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as safety for the fetus is not fully established, and breastfeeding women should avoid taking it. The safety for children under 12 years old has not been sufficiently confirmed, so usage should be approached with caution.
