Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients with allergies to this drug or ergot alkaloids, patients with acute myocardial infarction, acute bleeding patients, patients currently taking sympathomimetics, patients with very low heart rates, patients who have not yet achieved hemostasis after intracranial bleeding, and patients with orthostatic regulation disorders. It should also be used cautiously in patients with mild bradycardia or decreased kidney function. Rarely during treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or cramps, and dry mouth may occur. Increases in liver function indicators have also been reported rarely. In the circulatory system, symptoms such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, hypertension, increased blood uric acid levels, and blood pressure drops may occur rarely. In the central nervous system, drowsiness, lethargy, headaches, tinnitus, fatigue, and insomnia may occur. Furthermore, rare hypersensitivity reactions may manifest as rashes, urticaria, itching, facial flushing, and warmth on the skin. When taking this drug along with other antihypertensives, blood pressure may become too low, so blood pressure should be monitored frequently. Caution is also warranted due to the potential effect on uric acid metabolism for individuals with a history of hyperuricemia or gout. Post-treatment drowsiness or dizziness may necessitate caution when driving or operating machinery. This drug is metabolized by certain enzymes (CYP450 2D6) in the liver; therefore, interactions with other medications metabolized by this enzyme may occur. In breastfeeding cases, this drug may be excreted in breast milk, so administration should be avoided if possible or breastfeeding should cease. Elderly patients may require cautious dosage adjustments due to decreased bodily functions. Safety in children has not yet been established, so caution is warranted in use. In cases of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, necessitating observation of blood pressure changes and appropriate actions. Finally, keep this medication out of the reach of children, and it is important to store it sealed in its original container.
