Precautions

This medication may burden the liver; therefore, individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. The acetaminophen component in this drug can very rarely cause serious skin reactions, so if a rash or hypersensitivity reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Taking this medication in excess of the daily maximum dosage of 4,000 mg of acetaminophen may result in liver damage. Therefore, do not use with other acetaminophen-containing products. Individuals with allergic reactions to this medication or those who have previously experienced asthma should avoid using it. Infants under 3 months old, individuals taking or recently discontinuing certain antidepressants such as MAO inhibitors should also avoid this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable not to use cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretics and analgesics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergic constitution or a history of drug allergies, and those with diseases related to major organs such as the liver, kidneys, or heart must consult medical personnel before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, dizziness occur during use, or if rare but serious allergic reactions or signs of liver dysfunction appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Children under 2 years of age should not use this medication unless absolutely necessary, in which case a doctor’s evaluation is required. Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and duration, avoid prolonged use, and do not consume alcohol while on this medication. Particular caution is needed when this medication is taken with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol, as they may slow down the metabolism of acetaminophen in the body. Rarely, when taken concurrently with a specific antibiotic flucloxacillin, serious symptoms known as metabolic acidosis may occur, so consult medical personnel in such cases. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place in a sealed container; it is also recommended not to transfer it to another container.
