Precautions

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this medication or ergot alkaloids, those with acute myocardial infarction or acute bleeding, patients taking sympathomimetic drugs, those with very slow heart rates, patients who have not yet completed hemostasis after intracranial hemorrhage, and those with orthostatic dysregulation. Use caution in patients with mild bradycardia or renal impairment. It is important to consult with a physician before administration. Rarely, gastrointestinal adverse effects such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dry mouth may occur while taking this medication. Additionally, liver enzyme levels may increase due to liver dysfunction, and symptoms such as dizziness, changes in blood pressure, drowsiness, headache, fatigue, and insomnia may also occur infrequently. Allergic reactions may manifest as skin rashes, hives, itching, flushing, and warmth, so these symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately if they occur. This medication has blood pressure-lowering effects, so if taken with other antihypertensive drugs, blood pressure may become too low, requiring frequent monitoring of blood pressure. Furthermore, it may affect uric acid metabolism, so patients with a history of hyperuricemia or gout should be cautious. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur after taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Since this medication is metabolized by specific enzymes in the liver, interactions may occur if taken with other medications that use these enzymes. Therefore, it is essential to consult with a physician or pharmacist before taking it with other medications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits are deemed to outweigh the risks as its safety has not been established. In the case of breastfeeding, it is advisable to avoid administration or discontinue breastfeeding. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, so care must be taken in adjusting the dosage of this medication. The safety of this medication in children has not been established, so it is generally not recommended for use in children. In the case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, so careful monitoring of blood pressure changes is necessary, and appropriate measures should be taken. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, stored in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
