Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. People who are allergic to this drug or ergot alkaloids should not take it. It should also not be used in cases of acute cardiac problems or acute bleeding. Patients taking sympathomimetic drugs and those with very low heart rates should avoid this medication. Caution is needed for patients who have not achieved hemostasis after intracerebral hemorrhage and for those with orthostatic regulation disorders. Patients with mild bradycardia and those with decreased kidney function should use this medication carefully. Taking this medication may rarely cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and dry mouth. Liver function test values may also increase. Cardiovascular symptoms such as dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, blood pressure changes (hypertension or hypotension), and increased blood uric acid levels are also rarely reported. Neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, fatigue, headache, and insomnia may occur. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, hives, itching, flushing, and warmth may occur. If taken with other antihypertensive agents, blood pressure may drop too low, so blood pressure should be monitored frequently. Caution should be exercised for patients with a history of gout or hyperuricemia as it may affect uric acid metabolism. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery after taking this medication. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so it can interact with other medications that affect or are affected by liver metabolism. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of taking this medication. Animal studies have reported that it may harm the fetus, so special caution is required during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, this medication may be excreted in breast milk, so it is advisable to avoid taking it or to stop breastfeeding if possible. Elderly patients may have reduced physical functions, so dosage adjustments or careful use is necessary. The safety for children has not yet been confirmed, so it is preferable not to use it in this population. In case of overdose, blood pressure may temporarily decrease, thus blood pressure changes should be monitored and appropriate measures should be taken. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent quality degradation or misuse.
